Open the cap on the expansion tank to release the pressure. Screw back on the cap.

Remove the engine cover.
|
3.
|
Unplug the temperature sensor connector.
|
4.
|
Remove the temperature sensor and collect any coolant spill with a rag for example.

Fit the temperature sensor with a new seal.
Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 lbf ft).

Plug in the temperature sensor connector.

Fill with coolant, check the integrity of the system and bleed it as follows:

AC/ACC must be turned off.

Connect exhaust hoses to both the engine exhaust system and the auxiliary heater exhaust system and start the engine.
Start the parking heater with the diagnostic tool (Body, SID, Activate, Parking heater). The auxiliary heater will stop when the engine has reached 85°C or if the parking heater menu is exited.
Check that there is a continuous flow of coolant in the hose from the thermostat housing to the expansion tank. Run the engine until the thermostat has opened.

Turn off the engine and carefully open the cap on the expansion tank. Top up to MAX level. Close the cap.
