Checking |
If the basic boost pressure cannot be adjusted, check as follows:
1. |
Disconnect the diaphragm unit's vacuum hose.

2. |
Connect
30 14 883 Pressure/vacuum pump
to the hose and create a vacuum. Check that the diaphragm unit control arm moves.
|
3. |
Check that the vacuum pressure does not change for 30 seconds.
|
4. |
Remove the equipment and reconnect the vacuum hose.
|
If the control arm does not move, disconnect it from the turbocharger wastegate and check again.
To remove |
1. |
Remove the clip and lift off the control rod from the arm.

2. |
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum unit.
|
3. |
Remove the diaphragm unit.
|
To fit |
1. |
Grease the control arm pin and fit the vacuum unit to the bracket.
Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft). |
2. |
Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum unit.

3. |
Adjust the control arm and refit the clip, refer to
Basic setting of the pressure regulator, turbo.
