Checking basic charging pressure, on-road (B205L/R, B235R)

Checking basic charging pressure, on-road (B205L/R, B235R)

Important

The engine should be thoroughly warmed up.

1. Position pressure gauge 83 93 514 vertically to reduce the risk of it giving incorrect readings.

2. Connect the pressure measuring equipment to the intake manifold.

3. Accelerate at full throttle in 3rd gear from an engine speed below 1500 rpm. When the engine speed approaches 3000 rpm, depress the brake pedal while holding the accelerator down to produce a maximum load at 3000 rpm. Note the reading on the charge pressure gauge. If the charge pressure exceeds the tolerance limits, refer to Adjusting the basic charging pressure .

4. Remove the pressure gauge and adjust the boost pressure.
