Front fog lights
Front fog lights |
The front fog lights can be switched on with the fog light switch only when the light switch is in position 1 or 2 and when the ignition switch is in the ON position (+15 or +54).
The front fog lights are adaptable to market requirements and therefore have three different programming alternatives with different functionality. Each alternative also has a corresponding alternative for the main beams.
The programming alternatives for the front fog lights (ON/OFF) depend on a number of parameters which give 3 alternatives. A dash (-) in the tables below means that the light logic is not dependent on the parameter value.

So that DICE can safely determine in which position (0-1-2) the switch (10) is, it uses information from TWICE and its own pin connection.
The parking lights are controlled by TWICE which gives information to the bus (ON/OFF). The message ON corresponds to switch position 1 and the message OFF corresponds to switch positions 1 or 2.
DICE pin 39 is connected to switch pin 5, which corresponds to position 0. DICE pin 15 is connected to switch pin 4, which corresponds to position 2.
Description of operation |
The fog light switch receives current (+54) on pin 5. When the switch button is pressed in, it closes between pins 5 and 7 and current is fed to pin 62 of DICE. Depending on the fog light program alternative, the main light program alternative, and the position of the dipswitch, DICE grounds pin 29 and the fog light relay operates. +30 voltage is then fed from fuse 5 to the fog lights, which go on.
The switch indicator lamp for the front fog lights is powered when inactive from pin 49 of the control module and lights up dimly. The lamp shines normally when the button is pressed.
Diagnosis |
DTC B1150 is generated when there is an open/short circuit to ground or short circuit to B+.
DTCs are not generated if the voltage is below 11V or during diagnostic communication.
