Rear window wiper
Rear window wiper |
The rear window wiper starts when the button is moved inward towards the steering column. The wiper has an intermittent mode with a time between wipes of about 7 seconds. The time is controlled by DICE.
If the button for the rear window washer is pressed, the rear window wiper starts and continues to operate for a further 5 seconds after the button for the rear window washer has been released.
When switch (61A) is closed, +54 voltage is supplied to the intermittent wiper relay (83a) and switch (61a) via fuse 8. Input voltage to pin 19 in DICE (628) is supplied from pin 4 in the switch. Pin 27 grounds the relay (83a), and input voltage is supplied to pin 2 in the motor (62R).
There is a built-in mechanically controlled connector (31B) in the wiper motor that receives power irrespective of the switch's (61) position. As a result, the intermittent function only requires a start pulse from DICE to become active.
If the button for the rear window washer is pressed, input voltage to the relay for the rear window washer (432) is supplied from pin 2 in the switch (61a). Pin 42 in DICE is supplied by pin 2 in the switch (61a). Pin 27 in DICE grounds pin 5 so that the relay (83a) is activated and the motor (62R) starts to wipe. Relay (83a) is grounded for 5 seconds once the switch (61a) has been pressed.
