| To remove | 
| 1. | Remove the steering column covers. | |
| 2. | Remove the lower dashboard panel.   | |
| 3. | LHD:
        
        Remove the knee member. | |
| 4. | Remove the nut and bolt from the locking lever.   | |
| To fit | 
| 1. | Lubricate the cam on the locking lever sparingly with grease.   | |
| 2. | Fit the locking lever, bolt and new lock nut. | |
| 3. | Put the steering wheel in a central position. | |
| 4. | Use a cable tie to fasten the
        
         83 90 130 Dynamometer
        
        to the locking lever. | |
| 5. | Pull on the dynamometer and take a reading when the locking lever goes into locked position. Repeat the measurement until a stable value is obtained. Reading: 40 N | |
| 6. | Tighten or loosen the bolts as necessary. | |
| 7. | Repeat from step 5 if necessary. | |
| 8. | LHD:
        
        Fit the knee shield.   | |
| 9. | Fit the lower dashboard panel.

| 10. | Fit the steering column covers. | |
