Steering wheel adjustment locking lever

To remove


1. Remove the steering column covers.

2. Remove the lower dashboard panel.


3. LHD: Remove the knee member.

4. Remove the nut and bolt from the locking lever.



To fit


1. Lubricate the cam on the locking lever sparingly with grease.


2. Fit the locking lever, bolt and new lock nut.

3. Put the steering wheel in a central position.

4. Use a cable tie to fasten the 83 90 130 Dynamometer to the locking lever.

5. Pull on the dynamometer and take a reading when the locking lever goes into locked position.

Repeat the measurement until a stable value is obtained.

Reading: 40 N

6. Tighten or loosen the bolts as necessary.

7. Repeat from step 5 if necessary.

8. LHD: Fit the knee shield.


9. Fit the lower dashboard panel.

Warning

Make sure the cables are not pinched when fitting the lower cover.


10. Fit the steering column covers.
