If the belt tensioner is not triggered it should be scrapped, see

Ignition switch in the OFF position.
|

Remove the front screw of the slide rail and manoeuvre the belt out.
|
3.
|
Undo the cover plate of the screw on the air grating (3).
|
4.
|
Remove the bolt securing the air grating and B-pillar trim.
|
5.
|
Pull off the inner trim of the pillar (snap fasteners).
|
6.
|
Remove the scuff plate.
|
7.
|
Remove the screw clip in the upper and lower front edge.
|
8.
|
Lift up the seat cushion.
|
9.
|
Remove the screw clip from the lower rear edge. Tip the backrest down and remove the upper screw clip.
|
10.
|
Take off the side trim.
|
11.
|
Remove the belt guide.
|
12.
|
Remove the plate of the belt adjuster by undoing the screw at the upper edge and guiding the plate out at the lower edge.

13.
|
Unplug the connector from the belt tensioner.
|
14.
|
Remove the inertia reel by taking out the rear screw of the slide rail.
|
Re-fitting is done in the reverse order. First fit a new belt with belt tensioner and plug the connector in to the belt tensioner. Run a check using the diagnostic tool as follows.
Switch the ignition on and connect the diagnostic tool to the diagnostic socket under the dashboard. Clear any diagnostic trouble codes that may be present.
Turn the ignition off and on again. Wait at least 10 seconds with the ignition on.
Check whether a diagnostic trouble code is shown:
If a diagnostic trouble code is shown:
Carry out the relevant fault diagnosis as described under the respective DTC.
If no diagnostic trouble code is shown:
The installation is successful. Disconnect the diagnostic tool.
Tightening torques:
Retaining screws of the inertia reel. 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)
Upper retaining screw of the adjustment plate. 24 Nm (18 lbf ft)
Retaining screws of the slide rail: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)
