1. Drill out the spot-welds.


2. Grind down the welds securing the roof to the A-pillar and C-pillar.

3. Tap loose the roof and align any damaged sheet metal and panels.

4. Grind clean the surfaces to be welded on the body and on the new roof.

5. Apply welding primer on the surfaces to be spot-welded. Use Teroson Zinkspray.

6. Apply sealant to the roof frame as shown. Use Terostat 1K-PUR.


7. Fit the new roof and fixate with a few welding clamps.


8. Fit the windscreen and tailgate, check the fit of the roof.

9. Spot-weld the roof.

10. Seam weld the roof to the A-pillar and C-pillar.

11. Grind the welds.

12. Remove any remaining welding primer. Welding primer reduces adhesion of paint, filler and sealant.

13. Apply primer to all ground surfaces. Use Standox 1K Primer.

14. Seal joints and sheet metal flanges with sealant. Use Terostat 1K-PUR.

15. Saab 9-3 Viggen roof aerial:


The hole for the roof aerial should be made before painting.

Measure to the middle from the sides and 206 mm from the rear edge to the centre of the hole. Make a 15 x 15 m square hole with rounded corners.

Note

The corners must be rounded as cracks could otherwise occur.


16. Apply anti-corrosion agent to the interior after painting. Use Terotex HV 400 or Mercasol 1.
