Measure the oil pressure |

Raise the car and remove the lower engine cover.

Unplug the oil pressure sensor.
|
3. |
Place a suitable receptacle under the engine and remove the engine oil pressure sensor.

Fit
87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment
and connect a pressure gauge. Check that it is correctly fitted and not touching any sharp or hot components.

Lower the car. Start the engine and check the oil pressure. Refer to
Lubricating system
.

6. |
Switch off the engine after checking the reading and raise the car.
|
7. |
Check that the reading on the pressure gauge is 0 bar before removing it from the adapter. Place a receptacle under the engine and remove the pressure gauge and adapter. Wipe up any spilt oil.

8. |
Fit the oil pressure sensor with a new seal.
Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 lbf ft) |
9. |
Plug in the oil pressure sensor connector. Wipe away any spilt oil.

10. |
Fit the lower engine cover and lower the car.
|
11. |
Check the oil level. Top up if necessary.
