To remove |
1. |
Undo the expansion tank cap to release any residual pressure. Retighten the cap.

2. |
Disconnect the connector from the level sensor.
|
3. |
Remove and raise the expansion tank. Remove and move aside the bleeder hoses to prevent coolant from leaking.

4. |
Fit
30 07 739 Hose pinch-off pliers
to the large hose on the bottom of the expansion tank. Attach the pliers as close as possible to the expansion tank.

5. |
Tilt the expansion tank so that the bleeder nipples point upward.
|
6. |
Remove the large hose from the expansion tank.
|
7. |
Remove the expansion tank and empty the coolant into a suitable receptacle.

To fit |
1. |
Fit the large hose to the expansion tank but do not tighten the hose clip.
|
2. |
Fit the expansion tank into its mounting in the body. Adjust the large hose and tighten the hose clip.
|
3. |
Remove the pinch-off pliers.
|
4. |
Plug in the level sensor connector.
|
5. |
Fit the bleeder hoses.
|
6. |
Fill the system with the appropriate quantity of
40 - 400 131 389 Coolant
.

7. |
Start the engine. Check the cooling system for leaks.
