Exhaust gas recirculation control valve, 4-cyl.

/ 9-3 (9440) / 2003 / 2. Engine / 4-cylinder diesel / Exhaust emission control system / Adjustment/replacement / Exhaust gas recirculation control valve, 4-cyl.

To remove

1.	Remove the upper engine cover.

2.	Open and close the expansion tank to release any pressure.

3.	Remove the EGR valve connector.

4.	Remove the EGR valve.

5.	Fit 30 07 739 Hose pinch-off pliers on the EGR valve cooling hoses.

6.	Detach the cooling hoses from the EGR valve.

To fit

1.	Fit the cooling hoses onto the EGR valve and remove the hose pinch-off pliers.

2.	Clean the sealing surfaces and fit a new O-ring.

3.	Fit the EGR valve. Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft).

4.	Plug in the connector to the EGR valve.

5.	Replace the upper engine cover.
