Front exhaust pipe

To remove


1. Raise the car.


2. Remove the lower engine cover.

3. Cut the front exhaust pipe 87 mm from the end of the silencer, between the silencer and the flexible section (see illustration). Cut at right angles using a 83 95 667 Pipe cutter, exhaust system .

4. Undo the nuts from the catalytic converter and remove the front pipe.


To fit


1. Clean the joint and connecting pipe.


2. Fit the sleeve clamp.

3. Fit the front exhaust pipe, with a new gasket and new nuts, to the catalytic converter. If necessary, change the rubber mountings.

Tightening torque 25 Nm (18.5 lbf ft)

4. Adjust the sleeve clamp so that the pipe ends are in the centre of the clamp.

5. Tighten the nuts on the sleeve clamp.

Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft)

6. Fit the lower engine cover.

7. Lower the car.

8. Connect an extraction hose and start the engine. Check that the exhaust system does not leak.
