Raise the car.

Remove the lower engine cover.
|

Cut the front exhaust pipe 87 mm from the end of the silencer, between the silencer and the flexible section (see illustration). Cut at right angles using a
83 95 667 Pipe cutter, exhaust system

Undo the nuts from the catalytic converter and remove the front pipe.

Clean the joint and connecting pipe.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the sleeve clamp.
|
|
| 3. |
Fit the front exhaust pipe, with a new gasket and new nuts, to the catalytic converter. If necessary, change the rubber mountings.
Tightening torque 25 Nm (18.5 lbf ft) |

Adjust the sleeve clamp so that the pipe ends are in the centre of the clamp.

| 5. |
Tighten the nuts on the sleeve clamp.
Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft) |

Fit the lower engine cover.

|
| 7. |
Lower the car.
|
|
| 8. |
Connect an extraction hose and start the engine. Check that the exhaust system does not leak.
