Cars in stock must be rectified before delivery.
A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.
Saab 9-3 (9440) M03 with Anti Theft System and within VIN range 31002454-31015670
Inability to programme the "Self-Arming" operation in production before w245-4.
Self-Arming implies automatic arming of the anti-theft system if the car is not locked. Arming occurs 30 seconds after the doors are closed if the ignition key has been removed from the ignition.
Tech 2 version 104.500 or later and TIS2000 version 2002-4 or later are required in order to perform this procedure.

Make a note of the Vehicle Identification Number.

2.

Connect Tech 2 to the car's data link connector and turn the ignition key to the ON position.

3.

Start Tech 2 and select Diagnostics. Select Model Year (2003) - Vehicle Type (9-3 Sport) - Group (All) - All (Retrieve security access). Follow the Tech 2 instructions.

Connect Tech 2 with hardware lock to the PC COM port (RS232 cable).

In order to save time, the diagnostic tool can be connected to both the car and PC during the entire update procedure.

5.

Start TIS2000 and select Security Access. Select Diagnostic Tool (Tech 2), validate VIN number and select Close.

After completed security access transfer, disconnect Tech 2 from the PC and reconnect it to the car if not previously connected.

7.

Return to the main menu in Tech 2 and select Diagnostics. Select Model Year (2003) - Vehicle Type (9-3 Sport) - Group (Body) - All (Adjustment) - Theft Protection - Anti Theft System - Adjustments - Anti Theft, Type of Arming (Remote control + self-arming) - OK. Follow the Tech 2 instructions.
