The motor is connected by linkage and controls the floor, panel and defroster distribution damper.

The DC motor has a fixed position sensor (potentiometer) which provides information regarding damper position.

DC motor
The motor is connected to MCC unit pins 29 and 31. The output polarity is reversed in order to change the motor rotation direction.
Potentiometer
The position sensor consists of a potentiometer with a 5 V power supply from MCC pin 28 to potentiometer pin 3 and which is connected to ground via pin 1 from MCC unit pin 8. Potentiometer pin 2 supplies a voltage for MCC pin 20 between 0-5 volts which represents the motor position.
