Hydraulic body, front, level 1 and 2

To remove


1. Raise the car.

2. Remove the wheel.

3. Remove the retaining spring from the brake caliper.


4. Press in the piston by prising with a screwdriver against the brake pad.


5. Depress the brake pedal slightly using a brake pedal clamp.

6. Remove fuse 6 from the instrument panel electrical centre 22. Instrument panel electrical centre 22 (IPEC) .

7. Detach the brake hose. Plug the hose and the caliper.

8. Remove the protective covers and the hydraulic body guide pins and lift off the body.

9. Remove the inner brake pad from the body and the outer brake pad from the bracket.


To fit


1. Place the outer brake pad into the carrier.

Fit the inner brake pad into the hydraulic body.


2. Put in place the hydraulic body and fit the guide pins and protective covers.

Tightening torque 28 Nm (21 lbf ft)


3. Fit the brake hose with new seals.

Tightening torque: 40 Nm (30 lbf ft)

4. Fit the retaining spring to the brake caliper. Lay the outer contact surfaces against the bracket and push the centre of the clip.


5. Remove the brake pedal clamp and refit fuse 6 in the instrument panel electrical centre 22.

6. Bleed the brake system .

7. Fit the wheel .

8. Lower the car.

9. Depress the brake pedal repeatedly in order to press out the brake pistons.

10. Check the brake fluid level and top up as necessary.
