With 2 different switches indicates the status of the central lock and TSL
|
The central locking system motor is integrated in the door lock and has 1 electric motor in designs without TSL and 2 when TSL is installed. The TSL motor has the task of regulating the ordinary lock motor in the locked position so that the door cannot be opened manually from the inside.
If for some reason the remote control does not work and the car is in the TSL active position the front left door can however be opened using the mechanical emergency key. The polarity of the two motors is reversed to run them in the reverse direction. The 3 switches indicate the door status, locked and TSL.
The lock switch is 2 pole and grounds its signal circuit in the unlocked position. In the locked position the circuit is ground via a resistance. If for some reason the motor does not fully reach the locked or unlocked position, this will result in the circuit being open. The TSL switch is single pole and ground in the TSL active position.
Electric motor
The motors are 2 pole and connected with their own separate wiring and common wiring to the door control module.
Switches
The switches have a common earth and its own signalling circuit connected to the door control module. The door control module feeds the switches with B+ via a resistance integrated in the control module. For the lock and TSL the value is 2.7kΩ and for the door 100kΩ. The control module input is digital, a voltage above 2V is interpreted as an open circuit while lower than 2V is interpreted as closed.
Note
|
All cables in the wiring harness to the motor are black in order to impede car theft. The lock motor's connector has a guard to impede removal via the window channel.
