Background

Paint can peel from the following items due to adhesion problems.

The following items are now available as spare parts.

In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

Symptom description

Paint peels from the following items:

- closing handle (inner part) on the doors

- cover/frame on the window lift button on the rear doors

- push button on the cup holder

Closing handle (inner part):

127 802 92 left rear

Procedure

Replacing the cover/frame, rear window lift switch

Replace the cover/frame according to WIS - Glass, windows and mirrors - Adjustment/Replacement - Cover, rear window lift switch

Replacing the closing handle (inner part) on front door/rear door


1. Remove the cover according to WIS - Glass, windows and mirrors - Adjustment/Replacement - Cover, rear window lift switch

2. Remove the closing handle by pushing the closing handle out of its snap-in bracket (A).


3. Pull out the handle's upper bracket (A), now turn the handle backward/outward (B) from the trim.


4. Insert the new handle and check that the handle snaps into its bracket (A).


5. Assemble the cover according to WIS - Glass, windows and mirrors - Adjustment/Replacement - Cover, rear window lift switch


Replacing the cup holder button


1. Push out the cup holder using the button.

2. Using a small screwdriver carefully pry the button away from the holder, pry from below in order not to mark any of visible surfaces.


The clip can break. Make sure that all parts are removed to prevent rattling.

3. Assemble the new button by pushing it on, making sure the catches lock correctly.

4. Push in the cup holder.
