  P2135 FA

Pedal Position Sensor Circuit. Plausibility Fault Between Circuit 1 and 2.

Fault symptom

Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)

Engine speed cannot be regulated.

Idling speed set to 1400 rpm.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:

Continuous

Enable criteria:

Ignition ON.
NONE of the following DTCs must be detected:
P0652, P0653
P0698, P0699

Fault criteria:

Differential voltage more than 1.0V at max pedal position between pedal position sensors 1 and 2 (pedal position sensor 2: voltage x 2) for more than 0.5 seconds.

System reaction to a fault:

Limp Home, engine speed limitation.

Checking the wiring harness

Faults in the control module female connector can be the cause of the DTC. Check the connector with respect to oxidation, depressed pins and pin clamping force.
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
