To remove |
1. |
Remove the upper engine cover.

2. |
Remove the turbocharger delivery pipe from the camshaft cover and turbocharger. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the timing cover. Plug the turbocharger inlet.

Undo the rear wiring harness mounting from the camshaft cover. Unplug the connector for the pressure/temperature sensor.

4. |
Disconnect the coolant pipe mounting from the camshaft cover.
|
5. |
Carefully unhook the fuel pipes from the camshaft cover.
|
6. |
Remove the camshaft cover.

To fit |
1. |
Clean any gasket remains from the sealing surfaces of the camshaft cover. Fit a new gasket to the camshaft cover. Apply
83 95 691 Flange sealant
to the sealing surface as illustrated.

2. |
Fit the camshaft cover to the cylinder head and tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft) |
3. |
Fit the coolant pipe mounting to the camshaft cover.
|
4. |
Fit the rear wiring harness mounting to the camshaft cover. Plug in the connector for the pressure/temperature sensor.

5. |
Refit the fuel lines to the camshaft cover.
|
6. |
Remove the plug and fit the turbocharger delivery pipe to the turbocharger and camshaft cover.
|
7. |
Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the camshaft cover.
|
8. |
Fit the upper engine cover.
|
