Bleeding the cooling system

Warning
|
The cooling system is under pressure. Hot coolant and steam can escape.
|
- Open the cap slowly to release the pressure.
|
- Carelessness can cause eye and burn injuries
|
|
|

|

Fill the system to the MAX mark using
40 - 400 131 397 Coolant
and close the expansion tank cap (the coolant should be blended with equal parts water).

2.
|
Connect an exhaust extraction hose.
|
3.
|
Start the engine and run it briefly at varying engine speeds.
|
4.
|
Check that coolant is flowing from the bleeder hose to the expansion tank.
|
5.
|
Top up with coolant and tighten the expansion tank cap.
|
6.
|
Run the engine at varying engine speeds until the thermostat opens (radiator fan starts).
|
7.
|
Switch off the engine and if necessary top the coolant up to MAX.
|
