Charge regulator, 4-cyl diesel

In the method described below, the generator has already been removed.
|
1.

Remove the protective housing from the generator.
|
|
2.
|
Remove the voltage regulator.
|
The generator brushes are fixed to the voltage regulator. The whole unit must be replaced with a new one.

Carefully straighten the spring tab so that it lies against the voltage regulator. Clean and apply a thin coating of Vaseline to avoid oxidation.

2.
|
Clean the ground connection on the regulator and apply Vaseline.
|
|
3.
|
Refit the voltage regulator.
|
|
4.
|
Refit the protective housing on to the generator.
|
|
