Airbag, driver (333D) |
Main function |
The main function of the driver airbag is to protect the driver in the event of a head-on collision.
Type |
The airbag is of a two stage type. This means that it can be activated in two stages with different pressures depending on the force of impact and the position of the seat. The airbag consists of a thermosetting plastic housing, two electric detonators with different codings and two pyrotechnical charges with different amounts of charge for stages 1 and 2 as well as a filter.
Connection |
From the control module, pin 10 receives voltage during B+ activation for driver airbag stage 1 charge. Grounding occurs via pin 11 on the control module. (Green connector), via the column integration module (CIM).
From the control module, pin 3 receives voltage during B+ activation for driver airbag stage 2 charge. Grounding occurs via pin 4 on the control module. (Yellow connector), via the column integration module (CIM).
