General Safety Instructions

The cars are equipped with seat belts for the front and rear seats according to applicable law demands. All belts have been subject to testing for type approval.

On the strap there is a label stating the manufacturer, manufacturer's part number and the year of manufacture, codes for type approval and the Saab original Part Number.

Warning

The decal must not be removed from the belt strap. No modifications or repairs may be made to the belt and no mounting points may be changed. Ensure the right belts are fitted with regard to variants and locations as set out in the spare part documentation.

Belts that have been loaded in connection with an accident must be replaced and destroyed so that they cannot be refitted.

Inertia reel with activated seat belt tensioner

In connection with a car being in an accident where any of the seat belt tensioners has been activated the complete inertia reel with seat belt tensioner and the seat belt buckle and seat belt fittings must be replaced.

Both the seat belts for the outer seats must be replaced if they have been activated. The seat belt for the centre seat on the rear seat, if used during an accident, must be replaced.

If none of the seat belt tensioners have been activated, check all the belts and other equipment. Check and possibly rectify other components in the airbag system, see group 8, Airbag system.

If the seat belt tensioner has not been activated, it should be scrapped, see group 8 Airbag system, ā€¯Adjustment and replacementā€¯.

Warning

In connection with a car being in an accident where any of the seat belt tensioners has been activated the complete inertia reel with seat belt tensioner and the seat belt buckle and seat belt fittings must be replaced. If any of the rear belts were used during the accident, these must be replaced together with the seat belt buckle.

If none of the seat belt tensioners have been activated, check all the belts and other equipment.
