start the fault diagnostic procedure.
Symptom: Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)
Performance loss.
A/C not working, no cooling.
Engine Speed Sensor. No Signal During Engine Running.
Fault symptom

On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
Engine speed more than 850 rpm. |
NONE of the following DTCs must be detected: |
Fault criteria:
Time between two crankshaft signals more than 40 ms 16 times running. |
System reaction to a fault:
Limp Home, fuel limitation. |
Output to the A/C relay is switched off. |
The control module uses pump rpm x2 as a substitute value. |
Checking the wiring harness
• | Faults in the control module female connector can be the cause of the DTC. Check the connector with respect to oxidation, depressed pins and pin clamping force. |
• | Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force. |
