Important | ||
Be very thorough in terms of cleanliness when working in the fuel system. Malfunctions can also occur due to very small dirt particles. Prevent dirt from entering the fuel system by cleaning the hoses and plugging the pipes and lines upon removal using 93 161 370 Plug set. Store the components so that contaminants cannot enter. |

To remove |
1. |
Undo the fuel line connections from the fuel filter. Use
83 95 261 Fuel line tool
. Catch any fuel that escapes.

Unplug the preheater connector (upper).
|
3. |
Unplug the water level sensor connector (under the filter).
|
4. |
RHD
: Remove the lock pin holding the filter housing to the bracket.
|
5. |
Lift up the filter housing.
|
6. |
Undo the drain plug and drain the filter into a suitable receptacle.

To fit |
1. |
Fit the drain plug.
|
2. |
Fit the filter holder into the car. Check that it is correctly seated in its mounting.

3. |
RHD
: Fit the lock pin holding the filter housing to the bracket.
|
4. |
Plug in the water level sensor (under the filter).
|
5. |
Plug in the preheater connector (upper).
|
6. |
Connect the fuel lines.
|
7. |
Connect an exhaust extractor hose and start the engine to check everything runs correctly.
