Raise the car.

Cut the exhaust pipe to dimension, 100 mm. Cut it at right-angles using
83 95 667 Pipe cutter/exhaust system
.

Remove the rear silencer.
|
|
| To fit |
| 1. |
Clean the cut to remove burrs and dirt.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the joint clamp on the pipe.
|
|
| 3. |
Fit the rear silencer with new rubber mountings.
|
|
| 4. |
Change the rubber mountings for the front silencer as well if necessary.
|
|
| 5. |
Adjust the joint clamp so that the pipe joint is in the middle of the clamp.
|

| 6. |
Adjust the front and rear silencers so they balance.
|
|
| 7. |
On variants with visible tail pipe: Make sure the tail pipe is positioned centrally in the recess in the rear bumper and follows the profile of the bumper.

| 8. |
Tighten the clamp nuts.
Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft). |

| 9. |
Lower the car.
|
|
| 10. |
Connect an exhaust hose and start the engine. Check that the exhaust does not leak.
