Saab 9-3 M05-M06 with engine alternative Z19 DTH and 6-speed automatic transmission within the following Vehicle Identification Number ranges:

4D/5D: 51000001-61129898

CV: 56000001-66104488

Background

Hard shifting is noticed at 5-6, 6-5 or with kickdown. This mainly arises after a distance of 30 000 km.

The problem is caused by wear in the valve housing.

In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

Procedure

Replace the valve housing in accordance with WIS - 9-3 (9440) - 4. Transmission - Automatic Transmission - 6-speed, AF40 - Adjustment/Replacement - Valve housing.
