VIN: from 51031322 to 51043370.
BACKGROUND |
The clamp 7398415 holding the gear selector cable and the expansion hose is missing for above mentioned cars.
CONDITIONS |
Customer can hear a noise in the passanger compartment coming from the gear selector cable from the engine compartment.
The noise is the heard when the gear selector is in D-range, and espesially when the engine is cold and the vibration levels are high.
SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION |
The gear selector cable can come in contact with an engine wiring harness. If this contact occurs, it will generate noise that will be transmitted into the passanger compartment via the gear selector cable.
ACTION |
To prevent the gear selector cable from coming in contact with the engine wiring harness, the clamp, part No 7398415, should be mounted.
The clamp will hold the gear selector cable together with the expansion hose near the expansion hose radius. See picture.
