Heating pad in seat, CV

To remove


1. Remove the seat.

2. Remove the backrest cover.

3. Electric seat: Remove the rear outer side cover.

Manual seat: Remove the rear outer side cover.

4. Remove the rear inner side cover.

5. Remove the rear lower side cover.

6. Remove the side tensioners for the seat upholstery.


7. Remove the elastic strips from the seat springs.

8. Remove the trim strips.

9. Unplug the connector for the heating pad and passenger detector.


10. Fold back the backrest.

11. Remove the upholstery strips and remove the seat upholstery and foam cushion.

12. Remove the staples and upholstery from the cushioning.


13. Carefully pull the heating pad off the upholstery.

Note

The heating pad is adhered to the cushioning. Take care not to damage the cushioning.



To fit

Warning

Cars with PPS : There must be no more than two attached heating pads. If there are already two, the foam cushion with corresponding PPS components must be replaced. Otherwise there is a risk that the PPS/airbag system will not operate properly, which could lead to sever personal injury.



1. Cars with PPS : Check the number of heating pads.

Remove the protective backing from the self-adhesive areas at the rear of the heating pad.

Carefully position the heating pad and press the self-adhesive area against the foam cushion. Make sure that there are no folds.


2. Remove the protective backing from the self-adhesive areas along the sides of the heating pad.

Carefully position the heating pad and press the self-adhesive area against the foam cushion. Make sure that there are no folds.

3. Remove the protective backing from the self-adhesive areas at the front of the heating pad.

Carefully position the heating pad and press the self-adhesive area against the foam cushion. Make sure that there are no folds.

4. Fit the relay into the recess in the foam cushion.


5. Fit the upholstery to the cushioning with staples.


6. Position the foam cushion and upholstery on the seat frame.

Note

Make sure that the wire does not get trapped between the seat frame and the inner cover over the inertia reel.



7. Connect the connector.

8. Fit the upholstery strips to the front edge and sides of the seat upholstery.


9. Fold down the backrest.

10. Plug in the connector for the heating pad and passenger detector.

11. Fit the trim strips.


12. Fit the elastic strips to the seat springs.

13. Fit the side tensioners to the seat.

14. Fit the lower rear cover.

15. Fit the rear inner side cover

16. Electric seat: Fit the rear outer seat cover.

Manual seat: Fit the outer side cover.

17. Fit the backrest cover.

18. Fit the seat.
