Be particulary observant regardning cleanliness when working on the fuel system. Loss of function may occur due to very small particles. Prevent dirt and grime from entering the fuel system by cleaning the connections and plugging pipes and lines during disassembly. Use 82 92 948 Plugs, A/C system assembly. Keep components free from contaminants during storage. |

Raise the car.

Remove the return line from the holder.
|
4. |
Fit the special tool to the fuel filter. Use spacers so that the clamp fits.

Remove the fuel lines from the fuel filter and plug the lines. Only remove the fuel lines once fuel no longer runs out of the fuel filter. Undo the quick couplings with

. Plug with
82 92 948 Plugs, AC system, kit.

If the fuel filter is empty: Remove the special tool.

7. |
Undo and remove the fuel filter by pressing the fuel filter forward out of the housing. Lift up the catch (arrow).

To fit |

Insert a new fuel filter. Slide the filter forward into the housing. Take note of the direction of flow. Make sure the catch engages.

Remove the plugs. Connect the fuel lines with quick couplings to the fuel filter.
|
3. |
Fit the return line into the holder.
|
4. |
Check the seal of the fuel line quick couplings and fuel filter while the engine is running.
