Important | ||
Take care when releasing the locking mechanism on the connector so as not to damage the connector. Pull the halves straight apart to avoid bending the pins. For further information regarding connectors, refer to Connectors, handling and inspection . |

Cleanliness is vital so that the headlining does not get dirty. |

Undo the cable for the battery's negative terminal.

2. |
Remove
headlining, 5D
.
|
3. |
Unplug all connectors in the front roof console, telephone microphone, interior lighting, anti-theft alarm movement sensors and sunroof.

4. |
Unplug the connector (A) for the rear roof lighting.
Carefully mark all connectors before disconnecting them from their components. |
5. |
Remove the wiring harness from the headlining and remove the tape carefully.

Important | ||
Take care when plugging in the connector so as not to damage or press out the pins/sleeves in the connector. For further information regarding connectors, refer to Connectors, handling and inspection . |

Important | ||
Fasten the wiring harness correctly so that there is no risk of it chafing or rattling. |

Note | ||
Spray all the connectors with "Kontakt 61" to prevent verdigris formation. Clean all the grounding points and coat them with Vaseline. |

Take care so as not to crack the headlining. |

1. |
Route the new wiring harness like the old one was routed. Connect the connector housings to the respective component. In the event of uncertainty, check the wiring diagrams/component lists for the system.
Position the wiring harness and fix in place with new tape. |
2. |
Plug in the connector (A) for the rear roof lighting.

3. |
Plug in the connector of the telephone microphone, interior lighting, anti-theft movement sensor and sunroof.

Fit
headlining, 5D
.

5. |
Connect the negative cable of the battery.
|
