1. |
Remove the gear change cover (1). See the service procedure " Gear change cover, removal, fitting and/or sealing F 17".

2. |
Remove the reversing light switch (2).

3. |
Remove the bearing housing cover (3). See service procedure

4. |
Remove the main shaft (1) together with the circlip (2) and ball bearing (3) - see
Bearing housing, dismantling and assembling, F17
.

5. |
Press the ball bearing (4) off from the drive shaft (5) with KM-407-A (6). Note the arrangement.

6. |
Remove the circlip.
Note When pinions on the drive axle are damaged the corresponding gear wheel on the main shaft should always be checked and replaced if necessary. |
To fit |
1. |
Fit a new circlip (1) on the drive shaft (2) and press on the ball bearing (3) with KM-311/2 (4).

2. |
Fit the drive shaft (7) together with the circlip (6) and ball bearing (5). See

.

3. |
Fit the bearing housing gasket (2) - See

.

4. |
Re-fit the reversing light switch (4) to the gearbox with a new sealing ring. Tightening torque 20 Nm.

Check the gearbox oil level. See
