Gearcase, replacement

To remove

Remove the gearbox. See Gearbox, removal and fitting, F17 .


1. Fit KM-444-C (1) onto the gearbox.


2. Fit the gearbox using KM-444-C on KM-113-2 (2).

3. Remove the reversing light switch (4).

4. Remove the bearing housing cover (3) - see Bearing housing cover gasket, replacement F17 .

5. Remove the differential gear. See Differential gear, removal and fitting, F17 .

6. Remove the bearings of the main shaft (2) and drive shaft (1) from the gearcase. See Main and drive shaft bearings in the gearcase, removal and fitting, F17 .


7. Remove the central clutch (5). See the service procedure "Central clutch, removal and fitting F17".

8. Remove the gearcase delivery line (4) to the central clutch and the delivery line retention sleeve (3). See Delivery line, gearcase to central clutch and/or the delivery line retention sleeve, replacement, F17 .

9. Remove the bearing housing from KM-444-C.


To fit

Fit the new bearing housing onto KM-444-C.


1. Fit the bearings of the main shaft (2) and drive shaft (1) into the gearcase. See Main and drive shaft bearings in the gearcase, removal and fitting, F17 .


2. Fit the gearcase delivery line (4) to the central clutch and the delivery line retention sleeve (3). See Delivery line, gearcase to central clutch and/or the delivery line retention sleeve, replacement, F17 .

3. Fit the central clutch (5). See the service procedure "Central clutch, removal and fitting F17".

4. Fit the differential gear. See Differential gear, removal and fitting, F 17 .

5. Fit the bearing housing cover (2). See Bearing housing cover gasket, replacement F17 .


6. Re-fit the reversing light switch (4) to the gearbox with a new sealing ring. Tightening torque 20 Nm.

7. Remove the gearbox together with KM-444-C from KM-113-2.

8. Remove KM-444-C from the gearbox.

9. Fit the gearbox. See Checking and correcting the gearbox oil level F17 .
