Replacement of bearing


To remove


1. Set up the differential in a vice with protective jaws and pull off the bearings with 87 92 343 Puller, differential bearing 5 . Use 87 91 659 Support for support.


To fit



1. Press down the bearings until they bottom with 87 92 475 Press sleeve, differential bearing . Use 87 92 210 Support, differential bearing for support.

2. See differential bearing race in clutch housing when changing the bearing race.


Replacement of final drive gear

To remove



1. Remove the final drive gear bolts using an external torx and tap off the final drive gear using a plastic hammer.


To fit



1. Tap on the final gear wheel on the differential housing using a plastic hammer.

2. Fit the final drive gear with the mark towards the differential. Fit new bolts and tighten alternately. Apply Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 270 . The gear may have to be heated slightly prior to fitting.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm+90° (15 lbf ft+90°)
