To remove |
1. |
Open the reservoir cap.
|
2. |
Raise the car.
|
3. |
Remove the front exhaust pipe flange and relieve the load on the flexible bellows using
83 95 212 Strap
.
|
4. |
Remove the rear torque rod mounting from the gearbox. Use
87 92 723 Access tool
to remove the upper bolt of the torque rod mounting.
|
5. |
Place a receptacle under the car. Detach the delivery line and the return line from the steering gear. Plug the lines.
|
6. |
Lower the car to the floor.
|
7. |
Remove the upper engine cover. Detach the fuel line and tank bleed line from the power steering fluid reservoir.
|
8. |
Remove the bolt of the power steering fluid reservoir.
|
9. |
Remove the return line clip.
|
10. |
Lift up the reservoir and detach the return line.
|
To fit |
1. |
Position the return line.
|
2. |
Raise the car.
|
3. |
Fit the return line and delivery line to the steering gear using new O-rings.
Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 lbf ft) |
4. |
Fit the rear torque rod mounting.
Tightening torque: 80 Nm (60 lbf ft) |
5. |
Fit the front exhaust pipe flange.
Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 lbf ft) Clean any spilled oil from the subframe. |
6. |
Lower the car to the floor.

7. |
Fit the line to the power steering fluid reservoir.
|
8. |
Fit the power steering fluid reservoir.
|
9. |
Fit the return line clip.
|
10. |
Fit the fuel line and tank bleed line to the power steering fluid reservoir.
|
11. |
Fit the upper engine cover.
|
12. |
Fill the power steering fluid according to specification,
bleed the power steering system
and check for leaks.
|
