Securing bulb holder in spotlight

BACKGROUND

The bulb holder has been found hanging in it's wires when we dismount the rear side trim for any reason.

CONDITIONS

The press fit connection between bulb holder and the housing don't create sufficient clamp force.

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION

Customer may complain of bad/no light from the spotlight.

ACTION

Remove the reading lamp as instructed in owners manual.

Pull the bulb holder out a couple of mm. (see picture)

To secure the bulb holder to the lamp housing a minor drop of fast glue can be added as the picture shows.


This secures the bulb holder and it is still easy to change the bulb since the glue breaks loose when the bulb holder is twisted/rotated.
