Fault symptom

Message appears in display.

Headlamp beam adjustment not working.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:

Continuous

Enable criteria:

Ignition ON.
Xenon lights on.

Fault criteria:

Control module output short-circuit to ground.

System reaction to a fault:

Headlamp beam adjustment is switched off.
Headlamp reflectors adjusted to a lower position.
Outputs to height sensors switched off.

OK report:

Fault criteria NOT fulfilled for 1,2 s.

Checking the wiring harness

Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
