On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
| Rotational speed at least 1000 rpm. |
| No fault on the camshaft position sensor or solenoid and no chain fault. |
| The engine must work so that the cam phasing mechanism is comanded to carry out cam phasing. 4 cam phasing cycles must have been executed in each direction and each position shall have been at least 5 seconds. |
Fault criteria:
| The cam angle changes to the requested position too slowly. |
| The cam angle cannot assume the requested position. |
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
| Correct oil pressure is required for the cam phasing mechanism to operate. The wrong viscosity or the presence of air due to a low level can generate a diagnostic trouble code. The diagnostic tool contains a special function for checking camshaft control. |
