Read the instructions below then
start the fault diagnostic procedure.
Symptom: Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)
O2S Circuit. Slow Response. Sensor 1.
Fault symptom
Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)
On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
Battery voltage must be between 11 - 16 V. |
Coolant temperature greater than 70°C. |
Motor running more than 180 s. |
Engine speed between 1500 - 3000 rpm. |
Air mass between 200 - 500 mg/C. |
Lambda integrator between 0 - 15 %. |
Bleeding adaptation more than -10%. |
Diagnostics for the following components/systems must NOT have reported a fault: |
• | Crankshaft position sensor |
• | Shut-off valve, EVAP canister. |
• | Tank integrity system (EVAP). |
Fault criteria:
When all conditions are fulfilled, the number of combustion is counted during 4 lambda transitions. |
Number of combustions exceeds 250. |
Dependent:
System reaction to a fault:
OK report:
Diagnosis completed without fault report. |
Fault handling:
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.) |
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
