On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
Fault criteria:
Each time the control module is activated, it closes the damper completely in order to learn the lowest value. If the control module does not detect any damper movement, it determines that the damper is stuck due to impurities or ice. The control module emits a variable closing PWM for a duration of 2 s. If no motion is then detected, a DTC is generated. |
Dependent:
System reaction to a fault:
Correction of mass air flow/combustion for fuel calculation is blocked. |
Limited acceleration and idle function. |
Secondary air switched off. |
OK report:
Fault criteria NOT fulfilled. |
Fault handling:
(See section Fault handling III, "Other emission-related components and functions" for more information.) |
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
