On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
• | Vehicle speed over 6 km/h |
Fault criteria:
Control module receives substantial differences in speed from the four wheel sensors. |
• | If one of the four wheel sensors display a value under 1.5 km/h and the other sensors display a value greater than 6 km/h for 3 seconds. |
• | If two of the four wheel sensors display a value under 1.5 km/h and the other sensors display a value greater than 6 km/h for 10 seconds. |
• | If three of the four wheel sensors show a value under 1.5 km/h and the other sensors show a value greater than 6 km/h for 120 seconds. |
System reaction to a fault:
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
Diagnostic help
Diagnosis regards:
Electrical fault in connecting leads or component. |
____________________________________ |
• | When the DTC is generated, the ABS / TC lamp is lit by the control module. When the DTC is rectified and cleared, the lamp will remain on with the ignition on until the mechanic starts the car and drives it at a speed in excess of 10 km / h. |
• | The DTC can be generated if one or both rear tyres have reduced traction when the front tyres have good traction (e.g. in snow or with the handbrake engaged on a loose driving surface) and TCS modulation is not active. |
