To remove |
1. |
Remove the battery cover and disconnect the negative battery cable.

Raise the car.
|
3. |
Remove the front right wheel.
|
4. |
Remove the right-hand wing liner.
|
5. |
Relieve the belt tensioner and unhook the belt. Use a 1/2" drawbar handle.
|
6. |
Remove the bolt from the steering swivel member, lower the suspension arm and place a
83 95 238 Wedge
between the suspension arm and the anti-roll bar.
|
7. |
Tap the drive shaft out of the intermediate shaft with a brass drift and large hammer. Move aside the drive shaft.

8. |
Remove the alternator electrical connections.
|
9. |
Remove the generator retaining bolts.
|
10. |
Remove the alternator. Prise the engine somewhat to the left if necessary.

To fit |
1. |
Fit the alternator. Prise the engine somewhat to the left if necessary.
Tightening torque 24 Nm (18 lbf ft) |
2. |
Fit the alternator electrical connections.

3. |
Grease the drive shaft splines with
90 513 210 Universal paste
and make sure the rubber seal is mounted on the shaft.

4. |
Fit the drive shaft to the intermediate shaft. Make sure the lock ring clicks into place.
|
5. |
Remove the wedge and connect the ball joint to the steering swivel member with a nut and bolt. The pin must be visible above the steering swivel member before the bolt is fitted. Tighten the nut.
Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 lbf ft) |
6. |
Relieve the belt tensioner, use a 1/2" drawbar handle and mount the belt.

7. |
Fit the right-hand wing liner.
|
8. |
Fit the
wheel
.
|
9. |
Lower the car.
|
10. |
Connect the negative cable of the battery.
|
11. |
Fit the battery cover.
|
12. |
