The alarm is activated when the electric engine heater is activated

Background

BCM software does not disconnect the ultrasound sensor of the alarm when the electronic engine heater is activated.

If the car is equipped with theft protection with movement detector then there is a risk that the car will trigger false alarms when the heater is activated.

To avoid this there is an option to set the movement detector with the diagnostic tool so that it is deactivated when the heater is active, to then be reactivated when the heater is inactive.

Note

The customer must be informed of the option to adapt the alarm and then decide how the alarm should be configured.


Conditions

M06: BCM software is 12764479, 12773077 or earlier.

M07: BCM software is 12778376 or earlier.

Fault symptom

The alarm may be triggered by the electronic engine heater when it is activated.

Procedure

1. Update BCM software.

M06: Application software is available from and including "TIS2000 Edition 2006-3"

M07: Application software is available from and including "TIS2000 Edition 2006-4 update 3"

2. Connect the diagnostic tool and navigate as follows: Fault diagnosis - Vehicle type - Model year - Body - Theft Protection - Anti Theft - Adjustments - Anti Theft, - Disable Detection. Select configuration of alarm.

Note

The action is only implemented for the SE, FI and NO markets.

When updating is required for other markets, select to update the BCM software from one of the SE, FI or NO markets.
