1. |
Remove the reversing light switch (2).

2. |
Remove the bearing housing cover (3) - see
Bearing housing cover gasket, replacement F17
.

Remove the differential gear. See

4. |
Pull out the drive shaft needle bearing (3) from the gearbox with KM-556-A (
87 92 921 Puller F17
) (1) and MKM-599 (
87 92 939 Puller F17)

5. |
Pull out the main shaft roller bearing (4) from the gearbox with KM-556-A (
87 92 921 Puller F17)
(6) and KM-556-2 (5).

To fit |
1. |
Drive in a new main shaft roller bearing (3) into the gearbox with KM-454-3
( 87 92 905 Fitting tool, needle bearing F17)
(5) in combination with KM-454-4 (4).

2. |
Drive in a new drive shaft needle bearing (2) into the gearbox with KM-454-2 (
87 92 905 Fitting tool needle bearing F17)
(6) in combination with KM-454-4 (1).

3. |
The side of the needle bearing with text on should point towards the gearbox.

Fit the differential gear. See

5. |
Fit the bearing housing cover (2). See
Bearing housing cover gasket, replacement F17
.

6. |
Re-fit the reversing light switch (4) to the gearbox with a new sealing ring. Tightening torque 20 Nm.

7. |
Check the gearbox oil level. See
