Background

Due to small tolerances between handle, cable and lock mechanism the backrest may be difficult to fold.

In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

Symptom description

Difficult to fold the backrest.

Not affected.

Procedure


1. Raise the seat and fold the backrest forward.

2. Remove the backrest cover in accordance with WIS - 8. Body - Seats - Adjustment/Replacement - Backrest cover, front seat, CV.

3. Fold the backrest back to its locked position.

4. Lock the unit with a locking pin, drill bit or similar with a diameter of 2.5 mm (A).


5. Adjust the tension of the cable:

• Remove the retaining clip (A).


• Fit the retaining clip (B) so that it is firmly attached to the bracket but does not lock the cable sheath.


• Pull the cable sheath (C) down with minimal force so that the cable is just tensioned.

• Press the retaining clip (D) into place.

6. Carefully remove the locking pin (A).


7. Check the function of the backrest by folding the backrest forward and back 20 times.

8. Set the backrest in locked position. Check that there is a certain amount of play in the control arm, approx. 5-8 degrees.


9. Fit the backrest cover in accordance with WIS - 8. Body - Seats - Adjustment/Replacement - Backrest cover, front seat, CV.
