Compression check
| Compression check | 
| 1. | Engine at running temperature (oil temperature >= 80°C). | |
| 2. | Remove the engine protection cover. | |
| 3. | Pull off the cable set connector (2) from the ignition module (3). | |
| 4. | Remove the ignition module form the camshaft cover and cylinder head respectively and pull it off the spark plugs using KM-6009 (
       
        83 96 335 Removal tool, ignition discharge module Z18XE
       
       ) (1). Remove the spark plug using 83 95 485 Spark plug socket, with guide sleeves . | |
| 5. | Open the throttle valve using TECH II - use the "compression test" program (TECH II). Use a compression tester with measuring range up to 1750 kPa (17.5 bar). | |
| 6. | Run the starter motor for about 4 seconds - min 300 rpm. The pressure difference between cylinders should not exceed 100 kPa (1 bar). | |
| 7. | Fit the spark plugs with
       
        83 95 485 Spark plug socket, with guide sleeves
       
       - tightening torque 25 Nm. | |
| 8. | Put the ignition module onto the spark plugs and fit it onto the camshaft cover - tightening torque 8 Nm. | |
| 9. | Fit the ignition module cable set connector. | |
| 10. | Fit the engine cover. | |
