False detection of DTC P0606 00 - Control Module. Internal Fault may
occur due to a software problem.

Since the root cause is in the T-8-software, it will not help to change
the T-8-hardware.

There are about 10 different conditions in the ECM (hardware or software
faults) that can set DTC P0606 00. To check if DTC P0606 00 was set by a false
detection please follow the instructions below:

       | 1. | Erase DTC's with Tech2.

 |

       | 2. | Test drive the car for two driving cycles, in city driving conditions,
of about 5 minutes each.

Make sure the ignition key is switched off for more than 5 seconds between
the two driving cycles.
         |

       | 3. | Read DTC's with Tech2 after the second driving cycle.

 |

       | | • | If the DTC hasn't come back, DTC P0606 00 was detected for a false
reason.

 |

       | | • | If the DTC has come back, there is a real fault in the ECU.

 |

This information is issued to avoid changing the T8 ECM that will not
help to cure these conditions.

New updated T8 Software will be released at the beginning of 2004.
