Actuator, combustion circulation (403), Z19DTH

Important

Always use wing covers when working in the engine bay.


To remove


1. Remove the upper engine cover, insulation and battery cover. Detach the negative battery cable.

Warning

The cooling system is under pressure. Hot coolant and steam can escape.

- Open the cap slowly to release the pressure.

- Carelessness can cause eye and burn injuries



2. Undo the oil trap upper hoses. The right-hand hose has a quick coupling to the oil trap. Hold the black plastic ring and pull up the connection.

3. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the oil trap bracket and bend it aside.


4. Remove the actuator, prise the control arm carefully away from the ball joint. Remove the actuator connector.



To fit


1. Plug in the actuator connector and fit the actuator. Press the control arm onto the ball joint with a suitable pair of pliers.


2. Bend the oil trap bracket back in place and fit the nuts and bolts.


3. Fit the oil trap upper hoses.

4. Connect the negative battery cable and fit the battery cover.

5. Remove the wing covers and restore car electrical functions, see Procedure after reconnecting the battery .

6. Connect an exhaust hose and start the engine. Check there are no leaks. Connect the diagnostic tool and clear any DTCs.


7. Fit the insulation and the upper engine cover.
