Front exhaust pipe

To remove


1. Raise the car.

2. Remove the lower engine cover.


3. Remove the three nuts joining the particle filter/rear catalytic converter to the front pipe.


4. Remove the three nuts joining the pipe to the front catalytic converter.

5. Remove the mounting in the oil sump.

6. Remove the pipe. Take care with the flexible section if the pipe is going to be refitted, it must not be bent more than 5°.


To fit


1. Lubricate the studs with screw-thread paste and fit the pipe between the front and rear catalytic converters. Use new gaskets and new nuts.

Important

Be careful with the flexible part. It must not be bent by more than 5°.



2. Fit the mounting in the oil sump.

Tighten the nuts.

Tightening torque 25 Nm (18 lbf ft)

3. Lower the car.

4. Connect an exhaust hose and start the engine. Check the exhaust system for leaks.

5. Fit the lower engine cover.
