| To remove | 
| 1. | Raise the car. | |
| 2. | Cut the exhaust pipe to the specified dimension, 70 mm on the side to be replaced (A). Cut the pipe at a right angle. Use

| 3. | Remove the rear silencer (B). | |
| To fit | 
| 1. | Clean the cut to remove burrs and dirt. | |
| 2. | Grind away rust and any welding sparks from the centre silencer's pipe with emery cloth. | |
| 3. | Fit the rear silencer with the jointing clamp (A) (use mounting paste) (turn the clamp's opening forward and the nuts down) and new rubber mountings (B).   | |
| 4. | If necessary, also replace the rubber mountings of the centre silencer and the second rear silencer. | |
| 5. | Adjust the centre and rear silencers so that they are hanging neutrally. The centre silencer should hang alongside the anti-roll bar. | |
| 6. | For cars with visible tail pipes:
        
        Check that the tail pipes are in the centre of the recesses in the bumper and flush with the bumper's profile. | |
| 7. | Tighten the nuts on the clamp. Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft). | |
| 8. | Lower the car. | |
| 9. | Connect an exhaust hose and start the engine. Check the exhaust system for leaks. | |
